Big Girl Checkup

Well Sabrina had her big one year checkup and survived four shots! She did really well and only actually started crying with the very last one. Her growth continues to hover at the top of the growth charts!

Literally, from her birthday through this week, she has taken off with walking! Over the course of one week, she went from random steps on her own here and there, to all out walking more than ninety percent of the time. She still moves speedy fast with crawling, but her walking is getting more and more skilled... look out!

Weight: 22 lbs (actually just shy of 23 lbs) 76th percentile
Height: 31.5" tall (100th percentile)
Head Circumference: 17.75" (49th percentile)

Tyler's 3 year checkup

On the very same day as Sabrina's checkup, Tyler had his 3 year visit. He also amazingly has stayed high on the growth chart, despite his typical minimalistic toddler eating habits!

Weight: 39 lbs (97th percentile)
Height: 39.25" tall (87th percentile)

Happy 1st Birthday Sabrina!

We had a birthday party for Sabrina's first birthday with family and friends at our house. Sabrina very much enjoyed her first tastes of birthday cake. The above is her "smash" cake before the festivities.

Here's the aftermath of her destruction, it sure was tasty!

A good bakery in town did a nice job designing her cake! It was marble cake with cream cheese frosting!

Dig in!

"Happy Birthday to You! Happy Birthday to You!"

She poked many holes all through the cake sampling the icing. When Tyler turned one, he just leaned over and started chomping into the cake with his mouth... difference between girls and boys maybe?

Dainty bites.

My wonderful and gracious sister who helped me prepare everything for the party, thanks Laura!

Happy Birthday Tyler!

We had a small party for Tyler's third birthday this year. We had several of his friends over to play and we all had lunch together and then had fun decorating cupcakes! Tyler was very specific about his vision for his party. He wanted a fireman party and he wanted party hats, and he wanted to draw on his cake. So Tyler helped mommy bake chocolate cupcakes and we put cream cheese frosting on them. We had fireman candles which Tyler blew out a wax fire hat candle on his cupcake. The kids had a great time making their own creations, and eating them of course!
