Favorite pose

Sabrina is a real snuggler. Her favorite place to be is snuggled up on your shoulder. When I am holding her, she burrows into my neck as close as she can and falls fast asleep. I can't say I mind this at all. : )

Merry Christmas!

"And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with fear. And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.”
- Luke 2:9-12

Another Snowstorm?

I'm not sure if cheeks get any more red than Tyler's... but I've been told that Matt's cheeks used to get super rosy too. Tyler's been enjoying all the snow we are getting lately. Daddy has been taking him outside everyday to play. I think we ended up with about 20 inches of snow!

All Clean!

She's wide awake!

More Cute Pictures!

Tyler and his baby sister snuggled in bed this morning.

Totally relaxed!

Mommy bought sugar cookie dough for Daddy and Tyler to make cookies after baby was to arrive (yes, I bought the cookie dough the night BEFORE I had Sabrina).

Winter Fun

The Day Without a Post

Sabrina enjoying some awake time

Friday at the Chiodi household was a very long day. Thursday evening being our first night home with Sabrina was the typical first night at home with a newborn. Matt and I could scarcely even count whether or not we got a full hour of sleep during the night. We are not coffee drinkers, but sure partook of some coffee Friday morning! My sister came for the day to help out with Tyler and she made us three absolutely wonderful meals. She was a huge help to our weary selves! We actually were able to get Sabrina to her first pediatrician appointment. She passed with flying colors, although, I don't know if we did so well ourselves. I remembered the diaper bag complete with diapers, cream, burp cloth, and all of Sabrina's pertinent hospital paperwork, HOWEVER, I sort of forgot to bring a change of clothes, you know, "just in case". Well, Matt no sooner undressed Sabrina to be weighed, when she peed all over her clothing and soaked the table. Our nurse was so great, she found us a tshirt (sized 4T) and fleece blanket to use to bring Sabrina back home. Ahh, these things happen when a parent gets no sleep, especially to this tired and re-cooperating mommy who literally just got home from the hospital. It does make for a memorable story!

Hospital Discharge Weight (12/3): 7lbs. 1 oz.
Friday's Weight (12/4): 7lbs. 2 oz.

The doctor is thrilled that her color looks great, she's eating great, and already beginning to gain weight. We aren't scheduled to bring her back until she is a month old.

Tyler placed Sabrina's blankie on her belly and then placed his own new blankie (otherwise known as "B") on his own lap.

Happy Birthday Tyler

Here's a little birthday interview I did with Tyler the other day.

New Taggie Blankets for Everyone!
So its official, we are home--trying to settle in. The first thing Tyler did was give his sister a big kiss on the cheek. He is very intrigued by her and already wanted to give her one of his stickers from his dr. visit today. He had his two stitches removed and let's just say it was not a fun appointment for him (and today is his birthday too--poor boy!). The stitches went in much more pleasantly then they came out.

Little sister Sabrina brought him home a special gift (a new taggie blanket) and tonight we are going to give him mini-party complete with a present and his very own cupcake.

Evening Update & New Pics

She's been really quiet for us except for the occasional--hurry up I want some food--NOW!

She's starting to open her eyes a lot more now. Annika and I just scarfed down some really good hospital food (no joke--it was good!). I had meatloaf (one of my favs) and Annika had an open-faced hot turkey sandwich.

I went home again over lunch to hang with Tyler and he was just so darn cute: "Daddy stay, take jacket off, play with mower in garage (I stored his toy mower in the garage next to my real one and he just thinks he's so awesome)". So of course we went outside and "mowed the lawn" and played with dirt.

The plan is for us to checkout of the hospital early tomorrow afternoon if all goes well. Annika is doing good but as expected the incision is painful. Keep the prayers going up!

A Visit from Grandma Beth & Aunt Laura

Daddy's Girl

I've looked forward to this day for many years as I've always wanted a little girl so I could take her to all the cute father-daughter events at Church, etc.

Annika is doing better today after a rough morning dealing with pain. She was able to walk around by herself and will probably go up and down the hallway this afternoon. Unfortunately due to the H1N1 scare, we are not allowed to bring Tyler to the hospital to meet his sister. No one under the age of 16 is allowed in the maternity ward even with proof of H1N1 vaccination.

Mommy and baby are sleeping now so I'm going to try and catch a few zz's myself  before heading home to play with Tyler over lunch. The Baumgardner clan is dutifully watching Tyler and he is no doubt loving all the attention but at the same time missing mommy and daddy. He is already asking about meeting his baby sister but is going to have to wait until tomorrow afternoon when we come home.

Your continued prayers for Annika's recovery are greatly appreciated!

Sabrina Meets the Grandparents

Pop-Pop Baumgardner

Nonna & Papa Chiodi

Annika managed to get out of bed earlier today and actually said she felt really good. Tomorrow is a new day and we are both looking forward to some much needed sleep--well as much as you can get when you have to feed every 3 - 4 hours.

Up Close & Personal

Annika is going to try and get up again in a few minutes as last time she nearly blacked out. Please keep her in your prayers as they like you to get up and sit in a chair 12 hours after the surgery so we are a bit behind. At the 18 / 24 hr mark you are suppose to be able to take a shower and right now I'm sure Annika would love nothing more than to take a shower after this ordeal. Sabrina is sleeping and eating like a champ!
