A Very Special Birthday

Well, here we are, Christmas morning. Here's our finished product and tradition: the Christmas waffle. It's not just any waffle, it's a very special cake make just for breakfast on most meaningful birthday ever...

Christmas Eve

After church, we had dinner at our house with friends and then closed out the evening with opening our Christmas p.j.s. (I had to post this picture of the three of us because I crack up looking at Tyler's usual intensity and fixation with his new Toy Story fan.)

Christmas Waffles

Mommy's tradition of making waffles for Christmas. Tyler and I were busy at work making the batter (both regular and gluten-free). We made the waffles a few days ahead and froze them to enjoy Christmas morning as our family tradition.

O' Christmas Tree, O' Christmas Tree!

We got a very nice day to find a Christmas tree this year. The only reason it was a little cold for us was that we actually were a little under-dressed, but once we got in the sunshine on the tree farm, it was quite nice. Aunt Ann was visiting us this weekend, so we all took a drive north of our house to a new farm we had not tried before. It was a nice farm with lunch items to buy, an indoor gift shop and model train in the basement area where Santa was waiting. Our kids have actually never sat on Santa's lap until this moment. They were intrigued by him, and he was indeed a very authentic Santa Claus. Tyler did inform me after having some time to ponder his experience that THIS man was not the real Santa, ha. Yes, Tyler, St. Nick has lots of helpers. : )

Happy Birthday to YOU!

The kids shared a birthday party dinner together on December 3rd (Tyler's birthday), since they are just 3 days apart for birthdays! We had a joint-themed cake of Spider-Man and Hello Kitty. The cake was also gluten-free for daddy. : )
