Little Boys and Their Dirt

Matt took Tyler outside the other week (when the weather was amazing and unseasonably warm) to pal around and do "boy stuff". Matt pulled some weeds and Tyler also tried to help his daddy pull the weeds. It's amazing that, even at this age, kids are magnetically drawn to dirt. Matt could have left Tyler outside all day and he would have been perfectly content. Matt came inside with Tyler, who was covered in dirt from head to toe and just said to me "little boys are just meant to be outdoors"... hence the following series:

Notice the dirt around his mouth

A favorite spot for Tyler, as well as our nephews (under our deck)

Mmmm... tasty rocks

Notice more dirt around the mouth and the wet rock

Daddy's attempt at abstraction : )

Fun in the Sun

Last week when we had one very nice warm sunny day, I took Tyler outside on our deck to get some sunshine. He really loved being outdoors. He just sat in his bouncy seat and watched the trees above him blowing in the wind. It's actually quite cute, but when the wind blows against his face, he sort of makes a gasping sound because he's not sure what all that sudden burst of air is about... it takes him by surprise. He loves going in his stroller for walks too, so we are really looking forward to each warm day.
