Photo Update! Weeks 9 & 10

I have to say that he is seriously getting cuter every day. We've started to call him "Guy Smiley" because he pretty much is happy and smiling all the time (as you can see from the pictures). I really look forward to the weekends because it gives me a large block of time to spend with him. I've realized that you can't schedule time with your kids (example: I have 30 minutes available in my planner, I'll play with him then)--especially not babies. They simply don't work that way and you only begin to notice the small changes after you've been around them for several hours. And that's exactly when you stop looking at your watch and realize there's so much more to life then working or running from task to task. Children are truly a blessing!

Two Month Peditrician Visit

So it appears that Tyler is still growing by leaps and bounds--check out these stats:

  • Weight: 13 lbs 14 oz (90th percentile for weight)
  • Height: 24.5 in (95th percentile for height)
  • Head Size: I'm drawing a blank but he's in the 75th percentile
I will try to get some new pictures up this weekend so don't forget to check back!

Notable Developments!

It was a very busy week for me so pardon the two week hiatus! Tyler had a HUGE week with the following developments:
  • First Roll-over
  • First Laugh
Annika called me at work and told me the news of him rolling over. Its so exciting to experience these things and better yet we've even captured it on video for everyone to enjoy. While we didn't capture the actual first time, its still cool! In this video, by the time Annika got the camera out he already had his head in the rollover position!

I tried and tried to get him to laugh on camera but he wouldn't do it! But basically I was tickling his belly and snorting like a pig and he just burst out laughing! It actually surprised me but then he did it again...of course I ran for the video camera but he was more interested in the camera then laughing for it.

Annika and I were just looking through all the hundreds of pictures we've taken of him in the past 8 weeks and we are simply amazed with how much he's changed. The miracle of life is so amazing and to watch this process unfold in front of our eyes is such a blessing. That one could actually think we evolved from apes seems utterly insane.

Week 6 Pictures & Video

Hello everyone! Whew, when you have kids life sure does go by fast... the older I get the more I fully understand why adults always said "life goes fast". When your a kid, your like, 'whatever', I can't wait to be 18 or 21. Heck, after your 21, is there really any point to getting older ??? ;-)

Tyler is doing well and still sleeping from about 12:30 AM - 7 ish. Once in a blue moon (like last night) he'll cry for a minute and wake us up, but he usually goes back to sleep (thankfully). He's also started to become really picky about having a clean diaper. If he's used it, he'll be cranky until you change him. Its a good indicator for us to know if he's gone or not :-)

Everything he wears now is 3-6 months, including diapers... he's just a big old boy who likes his milk served at 98.6! Enjoy the new pictures! As a side note the video is from about two weeks ago..

5 Weeks Old

We had a great weekend with both sets of grandparents stopping by on Saturday. It was really a fun day to watch Tyler interact with each of them especially Nona. I took no less then 75 pictures but will spare you the details of every angle...

I also made a pot roast in our crock pot--talk about easy: 2.5 lbs of meat + potatoes + carrots + celery + spices + beef broth + cook for 8 hours = heavenly food (to all of you vegetarians out there I have no idea how you do it but thanks for leaving more for me!) Until next time!!!

One Month Peditrician Visit

Yesterday was Tyler's one-month Pediatric visit and once again, thank the Lord, he received a glowing report. His current weight-- 11.5 lbs and he already grew another inch at 23". He is in the 90th percentile for height and weight. He also started wearing 3 month clothing last week!

Well now that the craziness of holidays are behind us we'll begin to settle in to our new life. It has been an adjustment for us but on the other hand, not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. So if your going to be a new parent--don't let everyone scare you with their horror stories! :-)

Enjoy the pictures and watch Tyler grow! Happy New Year!!!!

Pictures Soon!

So its been about a week since I last posted but man have we been busy running around! Starting next week, I'll be back to work full time with no planned vacation days for quite some time. Its daunting to actually think about working a full week!

I have a ton of pictures to post and I promise I'll do so tomorrow--at some point! In Tyler news he's going for his one month weigh in at the Pediatrician's office tomorrow so I will definitely update everyone on his progress. I can tell you one thing for sure--he's definitely over 10 lbs by now...he's currently wearing 3 month clothing! He's still sleeping very well for us...from around 12:30 AM till 6 or 7. SO we are delighted although I'm sure Annika can't wait for a solid 7 or 8!

More tomorrow!
